Putting your child in charge!
One of our clients shared how this best applies to her 24-month-old.
“Jacob started going into the bathroom and closing the door. I knew he was
about ready to toilet train. I would let him go in and use his potty, dump it
into the big toilet, and put it up in the sink for me to rinse out. I rinsed it
a few times and before you knew it he asked to do it by himself. We also used a
timer and let him take the initiative each time it went off.” — Katie
